Application Process & Benefits

Applicants are required to apply online on the City of Ocala website. First, create a profile and sign up for E-Notify. If you do not find the position you are seeking listed, check back often as available opportunities can change daily.

When applying for a civilian professional position with the Ocala Police Department you will be expected to complete:

  1. Initial Interview
  2. Polygraph
  3. Background Investigation
  4. Interview with the Deputy Chief and Chief of Police
  5. City of Ocala Physical

During the first year of employment, civilian professionals can expect:

  • Orientation
  • 6 Month Probationary Period (12 Month for Communication Technicians)
