Application Process & Benefits
Applicants are required to apply online on the City of Ocala website. First, create a profile and sign up for E-Notify. If you do not find the position you are seeking listed, check back often as available opportunities can change daily.
When applying for a civilian professional position with the Ocala Police Department you will be expected to complete:
- Initial Interview
- Polygraph
- Background Investigation
- Interview with the Deputy Chief and Chief of Police
- City of Ocala Physical
During the first year of employment, civilian professionals can expect:
- Orientation
- 6 Month Probationary Period (12 Month for Communication Technicians)
